Have you ever wondered what sorts of lash extensions are available to you? Amy has put together the following information to give you the low down on what lashes we have available at The Boutik for you to choose from.

Different Types of Eyelash Extensions…

If you are considering new lashes extensions or fancy a change of style, make sure you speak to one of our lash artists who will be more than happy to provide you with a Free Consultation.

Classic Individual Eyelash Extensions

Our original and ever-popular eyelash extension style, as the name implies Individual lashes are applied individually to the natural eyelashes, one on one, either as a Full Set (100% coverage of the natural lashes).

Ellipse Eyelash Extensions

Ellipse means oval and is indicative of the shape that the base of the lash extension possesses. Instead of having a round, circle base, like a normal classic clash, ellipse lashes have a flatter, oval base. Due to the shape of flat lash extensions, they have the width of a .20 lash extension without adding any extra weight. The added width will create darkness in the lash line that normal classic lashes can’t do on their own. Another great benefit these flat lash extensions bring is texture.

Eyelash Extensions Before & After

Russian Volume Eyelash Extensions

In Russian Volume, several individual eyelash extensions are applied to each individual natural eyelash using a fan technique. The lashes used in this very specialized process are superfine and superlight, so anything from 2 to 6 lashes can be applied to a single natural lash without losing the comfort and lightness of a regular lash set. Russian Volume eyelash extensions give a gorgeous, full and feathery look – perfect for clients with sparse or unevenly spaced natural lashes.

Hybrid Lashes

The Hybrid technique combines both these lash application techniques in one set of lashes, hence the term ‘hybrid’, giving clients and Lash Stylists the freedom to create a truly individual and bespoke lash style without the uniformity of either Individual or Russian Volume lashes.

A typical method for the application of Hybrid lashes is to create a framework of individual lashes and then fill in the gaps with Russian volume eyelash extension fans, to achieve a non-uniform, textured look with a density somewhere in the middle of the two styles.

Perhaps the best aspect of the Hybrid lash technique is its infinite flexibility. One can opt for a 50/50 balance between Individual and Russian Volume lashes but for a more classic look a few more Individual lashes than Russian might be applied, or perhaps a few more Volume lashes than Individual for a little more drama. Light and feathery lashes, a gorgeous thick, full and glam look or a winsome combination of both – you choose!

Whatever lash style you go for, quality is always a given. I take pride in creating lovely lashes and every set is applied with care and professionalism, using extensions of the appropriate length, thickness and curl to suit your own lashes and individual eye shape to achieve the look you long for. My aim is to help every client achieve the lash look they love.

*Please note, all new clients will require an adhesive patch test at least 48 hours prior to your first appointment.

While we have your attention check out the following FAQs about having lash extensions…

How are lash extensions applied?

Eyelash extensions are applied by placing the individual synthetic extensions to your natural lashes, thereby thickening, lengthening and enhancing your natural eyelashes. The adhesive does not come into contact with your skin.

Individual eyelash extension lifespan?

The lifecycle of your natural eyelashes is between 60 to 90 days, therefore the longest your eyelashes will last is 8 weeks. The natural lash lifecycle varies from individual to individual, so some clients may find their extensions last a longer or shorter period than others.

Once your lashes begin to diminish in fullness, you can either opt for infills to keep their fullness, or the remaining lashes can be removed easily and painlessly at any point by the eyelash technician using a removal fluid.

Suitable for everyone?

Eyelashes are not suitable for everyone. Should you have an eye infection or condition, they may not be appropriate, and they are unsuitable for individuals with no existing eyelashes. They also require a certain level of care and maintenance, so this is something you should consider before having them.

Which lashes are best for you?

The length and thickness of the eyelash extensions will be discussed at your appointment, however eyelash extensions are not recommended to be more than twice the length of your natural eyelash length. You may decide to go for a more natural ‘classic’ look, or perhaps you want a more dramatic ‘mascara effect’ look – either way, your lashes will look fantastic!

Lash application safe?

Yes. The adhesive used to bond the eyelash extension to your natural lash is an odourless medical grade adhesive. The adhesive does not come into contact with your skin or eyes. For all new clients, an adhesive patch test will be carried out at least 48 hours prior to their first appointment with us to determine any possible sensitivity.

This patch test will be required regardless of whether the client has had eyelash extensions applied in the past. A lint free gel pad is used in the application process to isolate your lower lashes, and this can cause an irritation if the client is allergic to plasters, but should any irritation occur, the medical tape can be removed immediately.
