We’ve been lucky enough to have Emily join our Nail Team as our new junior nail tech this June, and she’s settled quickly. From the start, she’s made a positive impact not only on the team but also her clients. We had a few questions for Emily now that she’s been with us for a month!
Tell us a little bit about yourself
Hey I’m Emily, I’m 23 and a true Plymouth janner born and bred. I’m currently a junior nail tech at the salon and training in lashes this month. I do seem to be, however, fully qualified in having a good gossip with my clients. I absolutely love fashion and keeping up with the latest trends, I enjoy eating out and finding new hidden gems in and around Plymouth but my biggest obsession is dogs. Any breed of any size, I must say hello and rub their belly immediately! I’m really looking forward to seeing where a career in the beauty industry can take me, to expand my skill set and to meet you all.
How are you finding life at the salon so far?
So far I’m absolutely loving life at the salon; it’s one big family and I’ve clicked with the other girls immediately. I have definitely made some friends for life. The clients we have at the salon are lovely and I love meeting you all. I’m so excited to be fully qualified so I can be in the salon full time! I wake up and look forward to going to work because I just know it’s going to be a day filled with laughs. The team is so encouraging and supportive and the girls would all go above and beyond for each other; like I said The Boutik is just one big family.
How are the nail treatments going and what do you love most?
I’ve got the loveliest bunch of clients who are all so supportive of the fact I’m still in training. I may take slightly longer to complete a set but my clients always leave happy and with exactly what they asked for. At the moment I’m obsessed with BIAB and love how natural it can look but also how versatile it is to create a more dramatic design.
And finally… what’s next in terms of how you want to progress yourself?
For me, my next step is to finish my nail technology qualification and to make a start on my lashes course. Then build up my clientele and see what happens next. I’m excited for my future at The Boutik I know that for sure.
