Acne affects millions of people around the world. Here at the Skin Clinic we want to help you manage and improve  any acne issues you may have. Whether it’s a current breakout or old scarring, we have the solution for you. Read on for our best tips on how to get started on an acne skincare routine that works!

What is Acne?

You might consider acne as a normal part of getting older, but it’s not. Acne is the most common skin condition in the world. It causes pimples, which are those little red bumps on your skin. You can get acne for both reasons: genetics and hormones. Acne affects 10% of people’s skin at some point in their lives. This can be noticeable on your face, chest, shoulders and upper back. But if you try our simple skincare routine and follow an anti-acne diet then you can treat any breakouts quickly and effectively, as well as prevent more from happening in the future!

Microdermabrasion

How do I create an Acne Skincare Routine?

Prevention is always better than cure, so make sure you follow a good skincare routine on a daily basis. Washing your face thoroughly, cleansing, toning and moisturising at least twice a day is one of the most important steps in maintaining healthy skin. Make sure you know what type of skin you have (dry or oily) before choosing the right products. Never forget SPF and try not to touch your face!

To ensure you are enjoying the best results from your acne skincare routine, make sensible lifestyle choices. Avoid sugary food, eat natural products and avoid dairy products. Add turmeric to your food – it contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent inflammation. You should also drink plenty of water and eat dark chocolate!

How does Microdermabrasion support my Acne Skincare Routine?

If you’re looking to revitalise dull, ageing skin, or just want to get rid of those pesky whiteheads, Microdermabrasion is the ideal treatment. By using diamond tipped microdermabrasion crystals this non-invasive procedure removes dead skin cells from the surface and improves topical absorption, giving you a fresher complexion. It also speeds up cell turnover so your new skin can be revealed faster than traditional methods.

For mild acne breakouts and scarring choose a Microdermabrasion facial. This exfoliating treatment minimises the appearance of whiteheads and blackheads for fresher skin.

How much is Microdermabrasion and how do I book?

Microdermabrasion is a great way to revitalize your skin’s appearance and texture. The SkinBase™ Facial microdermabrasion treatment system uses non-allergenic crystals to gently remove your skin’s outermost layers of dead cells. This treatment helps to improve the overall condition and colour of your complexion.
